Capoeira Angola Classes

Brazilian Cultural Foundation provides Capoeira Angola classes in local community centers and schools. The classes include instruction in martial arts, dance, music, painting, reading, and writing. BCF offers scholarships to participants who demonstrate a financial need. We believe the art of Capoeira Angola is a positive life-changing art form.

Residency Program

Our residency program aligns our dance, music, and cultural awareness workshops to state standards in the core academic areas of social studies, history, geography, science, math, art, music, physical education, and life skills. The residency program is designed with local teachers to complement the current curriculum.

Introduction to Brazil and Capoeira Angola Performance

Our performances integrates a discussion of the geography and culture of Brazil with a presentation of the art of Capoeira Angola. We teach about the history, practice, percussion instruments, music, and songs of Capoeira Angola. We encourage students to actively participate in our presentations as volunteers.
